Jcb js130 hydraulic pump knocking

eamon ยท 2015-11-03 19:34

Hi folks We have a jcb js130 year 2008 approx 6000hrs We only use it as a backup machine, stock piling stone etc. Any how a lad was working backing filling a pipeline when it developed a tapping sound from the pump, it sounds like a machine gun and only is noticeable when using boom, bucket or right hand track. What could it be? And how do we test it? We have checked the filter for metal but nothing is there. Fingers crossed. Thanks

Good day eamon Listen to the flywheel housing this could be the pump coupling worn out, other than that check the induction hose's and tubes for possible air-oil leaks. Finally take a check of the suction filters in the the tank. Kind regards Uffex

Thanks Uffex Only one side of pump is knocking. Will have a look tomorrow to see if any air leaks etc.

Better take it down before it gets real expensive

Eamon Hyd pumps have a habit of braking on these can some times sound like air in your central heating radiators at home the pump slippers wear or the shafts couplings does it make any differnce if you use a differnt mode on the dash .i would pull the pump and check the drive coupling that uffex mentioned as this would be a cheap fix .But do it before the pump decides to break up as you will do a lot of damage and cause yourself a headache trying to remove debris from valve block and having to flush the hyds. You can get the pumps repaired and change the hyd oil at the same time a good 46 grade .

You should have a kawasaki hydraulic pump with two pumps, both take care of different movements, you have to take the pump out to repair...

Don't worry guys the machine is parked up. Didn't have time to check for any leaks today. Jcb Jeff. We haven't tried different modes, driver stopped as soon as he heard the noise, we have only run the machine twice to hear what is was doing for ten seconds each. It doesn't make a noise until you apply pressure from the leavers, again only on the boom , bucket and left track. I think it's a pump issue only one half though. Thanks.

it seems you have one pump failing is this nearest engine or the servo pump you here the noise?Does the oil look air rated by any chance.
