JCB Return-to-Dig problems

pwrstroke6john ยท 2011-03-11 15:56

I have a 1999 JCB 214s backhoe loader with the return to dig parts on the machine yet it does not work. If anyone has some pointers on spots to check out to fix the function it would be much appreciated.

Does your JBC have a switch on on the loader? If so it may be just caked up with dried grease. I had that problem on my JD 310D. Just cleaned off the old grease and all was well.

Not sure about the 214S, but here's the circuit diagram for the 214 shovel reset. Fuse B7 sends power to shovel reset switch via wire 132. When reset is selected with switch, switch sends power to proximity switch at bucket crowd via wire 1851. When bucket is crowded to proper position over prox switch, the switch sends power to the lever hold solenoid via wire 844. Proximity switch also has to have a good ground on the third wire coming from switch in order for the switch to operate.
