Just finished replacing a stripped backhoe carrier assy. Everything is working but i can't figure out how to release the clamps on the side shift. It is a 1983 JCB 1400B. No switches but there is a valve on the right side of the hoe control console. Am i on the right track?. Any tips on operation?
On mine, there is a pull lever, on the floor near the backhoe controls. Pull up and use the rear bucket to "push" the clamps in. Then use the bucket again to shift from side to side.
