JCB Stabilizer Cylinder

Looking for suggestions: I have a JCB 1700B with a slightly bent piston rod (discovered upon removal) in the Stab. Cylinder. Had ordered new seal kit to repair leak @ cylinder. The piston head don't look like anything like the parts manual and seal kit will not work. Seems like someone may have changed this cylinder out. Parts manual calls for a "C" type lock ring on the piston rod while existing has a drop pin thru the piston head. A local machine shop currently has the piston rod for estimate of manufacturing a replacement. A complete cylinder (from dealer) is +3900.+, new piston rod is near 1400.00. Used parts thus far have been unsucessful. Has anyone else ever had a rod made? Is it possible to eliminate the bend? Does anyone know a suitable replacement for this cylinder...will the JCB Model 1400 interchange? thanks

An engineering company may make a rod, but has the chrome cracked on the bend on the ram. In ireland you can buy replacement spurious rods. Your probly best to take it off and bring it to someone who will strip it down and see if there is any other damage done and go from there. Or buy a second hand ram, i assume you have center pivit back actor where as we have side shift where the ram is proctected

@ Anto Modded: Yes, there is some crack/pitting in the area of the bend. I assume the local shop here will use spurious rod for replacement (just waiting for a quote from them). @tool_king: Thanks for your input, I will try and call H&R Equipment (probably tomorrow).
