Ive got a 86 John Deere 444c loader. For the hydraulic system there are 2 filters inside of the resivour. Theres a return filter and a suction strainer. My suction strainer disintegrated and i cant find the replacement part number for it anywhere. Ive tried every keyword search i can think of on john deere parts, checked the user manual, and i cant even find the part number in the technical manual. Any help would be great i cant believe i cant find this thing
Look like this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/John-Deere-AT107006-Hydraulic-Fluid-Filter-NEW-/221194375350
You are a god. I looked for 2+ hours and couldnt find it. Im going outside to measure my old one right now. And to answer your question does it "look like this" you tell me. I think mine has a little less filtering capabilities left.
It's only listed under "Miscellaneous Vehicle" Subsection "Machine filters" Dumb. In a former life I have been a parts dude for both Deere and CAT, experience helps sometimes. The truly sad part about that picture is that along with all the dirt and crud that passed through there, apparently all of that stainless mesh wire also has been circulating through the hydraulic system. You know that doesn't look right, did that have paper or fiber in it? Should only be a stainless mesh screen........ yuck.... That almost looks like a return filter.
Yeah, what is that material? It couldn't have disintegrated SS mesh like that, could it?
I thought it was supposed to be a stainless steel screen but it feels like a nylon material. It definitely isnt metal. The return filter was in much better shape. It was a paper filter encased in a stainless screen. The machine sat unused for 10 years. The hydraulic oil in the resivour was exactly where the deterioration is downward. The machine was started and ran for 10-15 minutes but i operated the boom and bucket, as well as moved the machine, so yes all of that filter material is in the system now. I actually found some pieces of filter and plastic on the inside of the return oil filter. At this point there isnt much i can do besides run it and check the filteres every few hours and hope to clear the crap out
There was an earlier filter number, would not surprise me if Deere used some kind of nylon or poly screen all the backhoes and small ag tractors had those nylon screens in the bottom of the tranny, supplied everything but the engine. The stainless may be the upgrade? It is what it is, but it looks like that tank only supplies the loader which has a gear pump, so you may have dodged a bullet except for cleaning gunk out of somewhere now and then.
