Left steering clutch is filling up and starving trans pump, on a common sump where does oil go back into trans?
Welcome to HEF Ryan ! You must have the older serial number where the steering clutch housing was its own reservoir. That was changed with the later serial numbered machines and the good news is that you can change yours to a common sump. Check your messages.
Any idea if the 550s are similar and what serial number it changed with if they are similar?
The 550's have a bleed back hole in the steering clutch housing (unless the housing was replaced). If the housing was not replaced and it is filling up with oil, then the pressure hose inside is most likely leaking faster than the bleed hole can handle.
So it has been converted to a common sump, Now that the trans pressure is back to 160ish I cant get the right track to work. Worked fine before taking final drive off and all linkages to rebushing, with trans guage when i pull back left steering lever guage jumps about 50 p.s.i., pull right steering handle back it jumps maybe 4-5 psi. When I pulled off both steering covers at swap they seemed fine, hoses in each common sump seemed normal. Left steering clutch works fine, right you pull back and nothing. Top
It has only been converted if someone paid to have it done or if your serial number is over 246901, which is when the factory made the change. If your clutch sump is filling up, then there is excessive leakage somewhere. I would also perform the steering clutch and brake adjustments found in the manual.
