OK I have the 5020 split, does anyone have any idea where to get or what to use to seat the front seal?? In retrospect, it wold have been faster to let a shop deal with this, but I am too far invested to quit now. The seal is 7 inches od, 6 inches id. None of my seal presses are large enough. Anyone have a tip?
Can you tap it in slowly working around in a circle with a dead blow if not go to your local lumber yard or plumbing supply store and see if they have any pipe couplings that would fit Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
For large seals that I end up chasing around without starting, holding a large hammer on one side and working from other side around with a smaller works decently. Also, try a piece of steel plate which covers the face of the seal and hit it in the center if you don't have a shaft in the way.
Back together Thank you all for your tereifffic suggestions on tools and splitting. The clutch is back in the tractor and it is back together. Thanks again.
If your talking about the rear main seal. JD usually has a wear ring that is pressed on with the seal. There's a special tool that is required to do that and most dealers will loan the tool.
