My dad had a JD 5500 and its acting like the clutch is slipping. The tractor works fine in lower gears but in c3 and c4 it doesnt really want to move. It will but its takes a while. I noticed back in the winter pushing snow the wheels stopped when I pushed into a pile. The pedal is supposed to have about 3/4" of play. There wasnt any freeplay in the pedal so I adjusted it to have the freeplay but it didnt help any. The tractor has a little over 2000hrs. Anyone know what could be wrong? The JD dealer said the clutch souldnt be wore out.
