CASE 590SR levers go stiff

Hi i have a 2006 case 590sr backhoe and when using the back arm you are constantly fighting against the controls as if there is some kind of back pressure in the system it kind of improves when machine is hot but never goes away. If the control lever is in the neutral position and you pull it or push it to its max position it will move no bother but then it tries to return the lever to neutral and your arms ache by the end of the day, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as have had a few folk look at it but no one can offer any suggestions, i was thinking of maybe fitting check valves on each of the servo hoses to see if it is caused by back pressure but was not sure if it would affect the operation of the machine. thanks kev

Hi kjiplant, welcome to the forum. :usa I'm not familiar with your machine, haven't seen one here stateside, and I can't access the Euro Case parts page without a login account to view your components. Sounds like your describing pilot operated controls for your backhoe. If that's what you have, you can't install check valves in the pilot hoses going from joystick valves to hyd control valve. Oil has to flow both directiions in those hoses, check valves wouldn't permit that. Not sure what is causing your problem. Two guesses; 1) faulty pressure regulating valve causing high pressure on the pilot circuit, or 2) blockage or kink in tank line coming from backhoe joystick valves. Hope you figure it out.
