I have a John Deere 750c series 1 with a blown seal in the track tensioner. How do I remove the cylinder. It's inside a big coil spring.
It just slips in there, should pull out with a bit of elbow grease. Make sure the bits that hold the spring from popping out are secure. Sometimes you can get the #13 rod to come free from the barrel or the idler yoke and you can pull it all apart without breaking the track. Chain or strap around the back of the idler up to the blade somewhere to pull the idler forward and give you some slack to work with. Or maybe you're already down to the adjuster.......
