JD 762 fluid level?

Hello, I have a 78' JD 762. I was needing information on checking oil level in the transmission & hydraulic tank. Is the tranny to be checked running or engine off? On the hydraulic should the gate be forward or back? Thanks for any help, mudober

    tranny should be checked with oil cold - engine off. Hydraulic check doesn't matter where bowl/eject is as oil is pushed to one side of cylinder or other.

    Ok thanks, I was a little worried because with it running at idle I got nothing on the dipstick but with the engine off it checks good. The transmission.
