I'm just about ready to take out my worn steering clutches (boxes & tracks removed). Anybody know if possible to resurface steering clutches vs. purchasing new ones? Anybody made this repair on this JD tractor? Any tips to share for getting it all back together again? Thanks for any help/advice! Hob
The clutch plates themselves? I think you can get them aftermarket, I doubt you can get them relined. If you mean the brake drum, that can probably be machined if it needs it, I don't know what the minimum diameter spec would be though.
Contact John at http://www.tractorparts.com/ for steering clutch parts. He's a good guy to deal with.
Thanks for the input! I'll definitely check with him.
