Any mechanic out there that could provide me with an answer to this would help me out, thanks in advance for your information.
This is the Powertrain temperature we're talking about, correct..? In other words the lower left of the four gauges on the RH side of the dash panel. The temp sensor for that gauge is at the torque converter outlet. When pushing it should be round about 95-105 DegC I would guess, it will never go much lower than about 10 DegC above engine coolant temperature because of the efficiency of the powertrain cooler. If it goes over 130 DegC the EMS alarm for high powertrain temperature will sound.
The Red Line on the old IHC torque temp gauges was marked 275Deg F. 130C/5 = 26X9 = 234+32 = 266F Watch how fast the temp drops when you come off load. A good way to check low oil flow as a cause of overheating is to stall the converter up into the Red, come out of gear and stay at high idle. If all is okay the gauge will drop but if the flow is not sufficient the gauge will raise and stay there then start falling. Later Bob
Thank you for your information.
Now do you know the normal operating temperature for the engine coolant on D10N?
85-95 DegC in normal operation.
Thank you again.
ONE MORE for you... normal operating temperature for oil
Pretty much the same as for coolant, maybe a few degrees higher.
