Need help my JD 790 won’t start with switch but can short across starter post and will fire right up but engine runs under heavy load ?
Need a serial number. Check all your fuses, especially the F7 1 amp fuse. After jumping and having the engine running, then turning key off do any of the lights/buzzers remain on?
Fuses were good having trouble finding the # someone has stolen the is plate from the side of the can
Yes the indicator for idle comes on when turn key of then a few seconds later if switches to the p indicator
Does the engine oil light stay on? The F7 1 amp fuse is the 4th one down on the left. Again a serial number is needed to get good information. Try taking the blue/yellow wire to the alternator off and ground it. Then see if your machine will crank. Post result and s/n.
Haven't tried the grounding of wire yet and all I can find is the PIN *FF790EL010446
Attempted to start after grounding blue\yello wire all indicator r now off and I can hear the starter solenoid engaging but motor won't kick over,checked fuses again none seem to be blown.going to charge batteries and try kick it over again.and as for the eol it never came on at all
Is it the starter solenoid relay you hear or is it the starter solenoid itself you hear?
Got it to start but under heavy load and stalls motor after about 20 seconds running
Try swapping the solenoid assemblies on top of pump to see if the hydraulics change.
Just g OP t new batteries put them in and now the machine turns over but acts like it not getting any fuel wont fire?
Does it smoke when cranking? Since this happened the last time you started it try just swapping the wires on the solenoids on top of the pump to see if it starts better.
