JLG leaks from transmission vent

cric8192 · 2022-09-01 14:32

Hello, Scratching my head on this one… I’ve got a JLG G10 55A telehandler that leaks from the power shift transmission vent but only once it is shut off. You can hear a good stream of oil purge from the vent as soon as you turn the key. If you remove the transmission dipstick giving it the ability to breathe, it will not leak when shut off. It never leaks when it’s running and it doesn’t change if hot or cold operating temps. Any ideas? Thanks

Have you removed the vent and tried it? Have you cleaned the vent?

Like vetech said. Sounds like a venting issue.

Hello, Did anyone find a solution to this? I am having the same issure with a 2015 GLG G9-43A When I shut off the engine it pushes oil out of the breather on the transmission. I also removed the dipstick and shut it off and it shot quite a bit of oil out of the dipstick tube. The oil seams to be getting quite foamy.
