Hi i have a 2001 john deere 250 skidloader. Im having trouble diagnosing a low oil pressure issue. When the machine starts it has perfect oil pressure but once the machine gets to temperature the oil pressure decreases. When its idling the oil pressure will be in the red area on the gauge and once its at full throttle the pressure gauge is slightly above the red area. Other than that the machine runs great with 3300 hours on it. If anyone has any advice id appreciate that.
does the oil smell like fuel at all? i would also find the sender and plug a mechanical gauge in to check it against the standard gauge.
Check the guage and the sender.. you can pick up an inexpensive guage from the parts store and screw it right into the block in most cases. what kind of oil are you using?? is there a lot of blow-by.. open the oil fill and watch for smoke, cold and hot.. make sure the blow-by tube is clear of debis.. Is it time for an oil change, what about an old or dirty filter..
