I need to rebuild the steering cylinder on this 2955, but it looks like the only way to get the cylinder off is to lift the tractor's front and unbolt the axle. That's not really an option for this tractor. It appears that the cylinder seals/wipes could be rebuilt on the tractor, but the cylinder doesn't have a gland nut. Instead, these have a retaining clip that has to be pried off the end of the cylinder (inside the barrel) via the hose inlet/bung. Which looks like it will be a pain to do on the tractor. I just did a Massey 399 cylinder on the tractor and it wasn't too bad, but this 2955 looks worse. Has anyone here done this? Does anybody have any advice?
