John Deere 300D backhoe Reverse problem

just rebuild the reverse and it was running good and for some reason is not working anymore . I you have the transmission in neutral and you engage the reverse ether forward or in reverse works with no problem but as soon as you engage 1,2 3, 4 gear it completely stops the reverse .When you first start and is cool you engage the gear it will move forward or reverse but only for about 100 feet's and then quits and wont engage until you turn off for a few hours .One of my questions is what will be the sings of a bad torque converted . Cause it is the only thing that I didn't change after I rebuild the reverse. Thank you

Serial number? Who rebuilt the reverser? 1. Oil level correct? 2. FNR working correctly sending the proper electrical signal to the reverser solenoids? 3. Clutch cutout circuit working correctly (also an electrical issue)? 4. When it was rebuilt, was as the clutch pack end play set correctly? Proper size snap rings placed where they should be? 5. All the sealing rings replaced with new? If and when electrical issues are eliminated, system pressure, forward and reverse pressure and cooler pressure need to be checked when it is working and when it is not and posted.

    Unlikely from the information given.

When the machine's transmission oil is cold, things can work. When that oil gets hot, things often quit working on a transmission that's not quite right. Hopefully a sealing ring didn't get broken on reassembly.
