john deere 310a backhoe removal

need some advice on removing the backhoe from my 310a,my lower boom pivot bushings are badly worn and it looks like i need to remove the backhoe to repair them,can anyone offer any advice before i start this job.thanks Sbarrett

    I took mine apart at the highest point (top of dipperstick/boom) to do some bushing work and had a forklift to lift it out of the way. If I were taking the whole thing off I would start with that, then take the rest off again with the forklift. Without a forklift or another loader to lift with, I've heard here about digging a hole so the dipperstick is contained within the hole and can't fall over. I'm sure others can share more from experience though.
