hey fellas new to the site here was hoping that i could get some help. The problem i am having is the 310a we have at work was running fine and one of the guys ran it real low on hydraulic fluid. He started it up went to take off and it would only drive in reverse (Low) so we put fluid in it and it wont move forward or backwards unless you are on completely flat ground and the rpms are screaming and even then it hardly moves. all other hydraulics are working just fine, so i am wondering if it sucked up some garbage from being ran so low on fluid or something else. any help would be appreciated thanks
Welcome to the forum scooled101. :usa I wish I could help you out, but don't know anything about a 310A. I suppose it's possible to get trash to clog the charge pump strainer, I've heard of that happening on the Case 580B CK, pretty much the same result. If you can figure out how to check your charge pump pressure, that would help in diagnosing the problem.
That backhoe has a manual transmission with a hydraulic reverser unit, suggest you look into that. It may have gotten air into the reverser valve when the hyd. went low. This tractor uses a common oil reservoir for the transmission, differential and hydraulics.
was it driving ok when he parked it?
If it was driving well before ran low on oil then possibly the reverser oil pump, mounted about mid level of tranny, is worn enough that it will not pickup oil from sump. The transmission pump, seperat pump, supplies slightly pressurized oil to the main hyd pump. Do the hydraulics operate normally?
