Welcome to HEF Serge ! With the bucket in the dumped position and the boom on the ground you have to remove the cylinder rod eye pin and lower the cylinder down towards the axle. Then you should be able to get the boom lock in.

I have another question for you my backhoe gas a real small teansmission pan leak, over a few days i fet a few drop in my shop floor. Would it be ok if i put some engine stop leak in my tranny. I say motor oil stop leak because the oil in the tranny us like motor oil. Or what would you recommend ?

Fix it properly if you want it to last. Maybe see if a bolt might be a little loose or something.

Will do, Thanks for all your advises

If you are correct in that it is an "SJ" backhoe, there is no pan. That is an access cover to the torque converter bolts for transmission removal. If there is oil coming out of there it is either a engine rear main seal leak or it is the torque converter seal leaking. How about a picture of where it is leaking? Absolutely no to stop leak. Too many small orifices in that transmission that could get plugged up from that stuff. And make sure that Hygard (or oil that meets Deere J20C or J20D spec) is the only oil you put in that trans.

Hi there , thanks for all the advised, If you have time i have another problem, this time is with my zx35-2 hitachi excavator. I had a problem with my ignition, sometimes it would not start and sometime it did. So today i put on a new ignition , then started it, it started right away, but since i did that the high idle does not drop down like it used to, i put back the old ignition and it still doing the same, the idle does not go down. What do you think it could be ?

You should start a new thread if it's a different machine.
