Hi, everyone, i have a john deere 350c dozer. i had a fuel blockage in the fuel tank, i drained the fitting at the bottom of the tank, (it was very dirty, had some fairly large pieces) when i looked into the 1/2 out put pipe, i can see what i believe is a check valve (not sure) it looks like it should unscrew, but that's not happening. i am able to blow into it, with some resistance, but can suck on it with no problem, does any body know what it is?

thanks, i tried unscrewing it but it didn't budge. i don't know how to check to see if or how many of the holes are still open, what are your thoughts about punching a hole in the back of the filter? I can suck air thru the opening so i'm thinking it should be okay, but sure would hate to put the tank back in and hooked up and still have my problem, thanks again for your help
