Where is the hydraulic pump suction strainer on a JD 550G and how do I get to it to clean.

    First a serial number would help. The suction strainer for that machine is under the floor board mounted on the front of the transmission case (see highlighted location drawing attached) and is part of the transmission circuit, not the hydraulic circuit. Should be cleaned every 1000 hrs when the hydraulic/transmission oil gets changed.

    Thanks. For some reason the highlight came out dark and covered the label. The serial no. is TO550GL 783906.
