I bought a John Deere 690E LC Excavator sn8470 install a reman hydraulic pump after installing hydraulic pump motor is running and hydraulic pump is running too but none of hydraulics is working from pilot control boom, arm, bucket tracks any suggestions.
I suspect you have zero or very low pilot pressure. Should be about 450-600 psi. Also check visually to make sure the lever at the pilot shut off valve is moving fully. Last portion of Deere sn# are 6 digits
Is this model have any solenoids
There is a lot of electrics / solenoids on the machine but can’t think of any electrical issue that would result in zero hydraulic performance.
Pilot solenoid? do you know pilot solenoid location on this model
Correction , there is a pump displacement solenoid on the regulator housing on top of the pump. The solenoid is fed variable current by the main controller based on hydraulic demand. For testing purposes or “limp home” , there is a manual bypass valve with a lever or a large knob that in bypass mode will put the engine to full throttle and forces the pump to approximately 60% output. The location varies depending on sn#
There is no pilot solenoid
Have you ever seen the machine function properly or did you buy it as a dead unit ?
I bought a dead unit install a reman hydraulic pump now engine and pump running but none of hydraulic is working
You are a brave man . I will stick with my zero or low pilot pressure being the issue. The manual bypass system relies on pilot pressure also to function properly.
So what's your suggestion where to start checking
TM1508 is the Operation and test manual .Dealer could likely get you a paper copy
I sent you a message
I would check pilot pressure with a tee right at the pilot pump. If ok, check pilot pressure with a tee at the outlet of the pilot shut off valve. If ok, I would locate the manual bypass valve and put in bypass mode. Run the controls and see what hydraulic performance you gain (if any) .
Thanks
We bought a John Deere 690 E LC that was setting out in a pasture, it hadn't run in 15 years. Had very similar situation except we got all the hydraulics working before we rebuilt the pump. We had to replace the injection pump to make it run and then had no hydraulics. Multiple trips tried many things and what we finally found was one of the main two solenoids that is located just beside the hydraulic tank on a hydraulic block were electrically working, you could hear them clicking, but the plunger that one of them moved had just enough condensate at some to stick cleaned it and had hydraulics again. Have you had any luck with yours?
