Have a John Deere 70d Excavator. Anyone know anything about them? Weak spots, etc? Is this the same machine as a Hitachi ES 60? Anyone know a good place for used parts? Thanks much.
The final drives and swing gearbox are obsolete. I would recommend staying away. It is the same machine as an EX60, with different engine. The travel motor is a weak point on this machine and there are no parts available to repair them. The swing gearbox has a cast housing that is prone to breaking where it mounts to the frame. Same story, no parts to repair. The housing is not available. Be cautious
