john deere tractor hard starting

tractor works good for the day when it starts but next day same thing . brought it to john deere mechanics they couldn't figure it out .last they told me it could be a battery problem. it seems fine to me turns the engine real good .anyway after a hefty bill I brought it home to figure it out any pointers or problems would be appreciated. they did wanna bill me 26 hr for no results. its a 2007 4720 tractor . deisal

    Maybe you have a fuel drain down issue

    Check your electric fuel/feed pump..{lift pump, supply pump} Pull the line coming off of it & turn the key on & try to fill a small bucket.. & watch the flow.. U "could" put a clear line on it & run the machine.. THAT will fill the clear line w/ pressurized fuel.. Then put it away for the night.. The next day LOOK at the clear line & see if its still filled w/ fuel.. IF NOT, either the overflow valve in the injection pump is bad {hope not} or the lift/supply pump valves are leaking, allowing the fuel to drain back to the tank.. I guess the take away from this "novel" is to go get a clear line..Lol
