John Deere60G fuel rail pressure to high code won’t start

Youngboss98 · 2023-02-10 20:44

It started running rough out of the blue and then thru code E:1100 (0009D-0F). It says actual fuel rail pressure higher then target pressure for more then 5 secs! Any ideas?

Welcome to HEF Youngboss98 ! As with all Deere's, please provide a machine serial number so the most accurate information can be accessed. With any rail mismatch codes, the first thing to check is the low system fuel pressure. The supply system has to be in good working order for the rail system to work properly. If the supply is good, free of air and maintains a positive pressure at all times, then you most likely have an issue with the SCV (Suction Control Valve), Rail pressure sensor, or their wiring. With over pressurization, I would suspect either a Rail sensor/Rail sensor wiring issue or an SCV/SCV wiring issue and not the fuel supply. But I still recommend confirming supply.

Check your PM's. Unfortunately, diagnostic software needs to be connected now for troubleshooting.

The high pressure fuel pump come apart.

The high pressure pump is not serviceable. The only serviceable parts for the high pressure pump are the suction control valve and the temperature sensor. That pump rarely goes bad on those engines. With the code you have I suspect an electrical issue, bad rail sensor, or most likely, an SCV, or wiring issue. To have an overpressure code, either there is an intermittent open in the wiring to the SCV or a sticking SCV. The SCV is what controls the pump output.
