Hi I have an old cat 325b and was wondering if a kawasaki k3v 140 hydraulic pump off a hyundai excavator would work on a caterpillar 325b. Has anyone tried it ? Does the kawasaki pump also work with negative flow control like the bosch rexroth ? Cheers.

The Kawasaki and RexRoth Uchita were the pumps of choice back in that vintage. uffex is correct that the piston and barrel groups, cases, drives and basic hook ups were about the same if not exactly the same. They were all negative control but the governors and electronics were all different. It is probably possible to swap controls from one to the other but you probably better have plenty of experience with pumps before trying to rip and tear into the job. Good Luck
