Kobelco Computer contoller

Made the mistake of moving the stepping motor arm with the power on. I assume that is what fried my controller. Bought the newest upgraded part number contoller for my Mark III. Mechanic installed and can't get it to work the new stepping motor to give me low idle or the right FC setting. I asked if they connected the new controller to Kobelco site to ensure it was spec.'d for my machine and they said they did. Mechanic said they could only get it to work if they used the Mark IV settings. Whats wrong here???

UPDATE: Kobelco just confirmed that this new controller is the only 1 available for my machine. They are also saying the controller software comes pre-loaded and cannot be changed. This makes no sense to me. Does any Kobelco guys have any insight as to what is going on here? TIA.

Update; Well it appears no one had any advice to share with my issue and was finally able to solve the problem today. Kobelco suggested to inspect the injector pump linkage for play and to adjust the play out of it before doing the A adjustment for the new stepping motor. Once the play was removed from the linkage the adjustment worked better. Not sure why but the mechanic still had to tell controller it was in a Mark IV instead of a Mark III to get it to hold high idle but it worked. High idle (power mode) came in a 2370 rpm and FC mode is now 1900 rpm. Auto idle is 1070 with low idle at 875. I guess this issue isn't that common given the low response. I can only guess but it appears that my problem started from either a bad wire connector at the stepping motor or the 2 year old Chinese motor itself and then by me manually moving the arm with key power on frying the main controller. A very expensive lesson. Hopefully lesson learned and will have some trouble free operating time now.. Hope this saves some others the pain.
