I have kobelco sk210-8.it falls in water.when its falls I immediately disconnected the battery cable. Now what would be my next step can any one suggest. Is i start the engine and try to go front. Is it right to start the engine. Help me please
If it was running when it was flooded, the engine is likely already toast. No, do NOT try to start it. You call your insurance company because it is totalled.
I would guess you got water in engine . Drag it out check fluids for contamination (water). Check to see if water is in cylinders. Drain everything thoroughly.
DO NOT START THE ENGINE! If you do not have insurance. I assume this is not salt water based on your location. Is this fresh water? like a river far from the ocean? And you have the engine out of the water already? Rinse everything off with fresh water to get the mud out, let the electrical components dry as much as possible. If it's level, check the engine oil drain plug for water by loosening the plug until several drops of oil drip out. Check the hydraulic oil tank for water. Check the diesel fuel tank for water, or drain the tank and rinse with diesel, then refill with fresh diesel. When you're sure there is no water in the engine oil, hydraulic oil, or diesel fuel, then remove the hose from the intake manifold in case there is water in the pipes. Turn the engine over BY HAND, if it turns over four times all the way around, then you can try to start it. Let it run five minutes to dry out, then let the whole machine dry out before starting again to see what electrical stuff works, you might have to open up covers to get electrical boards to dry and rinse mud out.
The questions in the thread indicate the OP should probably get some help. There are a LOT of things to consider here. Too many variables. Seen this way too often where people move too fast to hit the start button. That can cost you big!
For sure. It takes less than a teaspoon of water per cylinder to stuff an engine. Operator calls up the boss. Well it was cranking but now it won't, must have an electric problem. Boss, well check the starter and get back to me. Op rings back, the starter motor is missing and there's a hole in the block. Boss, ,,,,, silence
First of all.......is it out of that water? How was that accomplished?
Vetech, if you click on the location, it looks like a very intensely farmed part of Northern Bangladesh, and the rivers on the map look like mostly irrigation ditches, so I wonder if a few calls, maybe a few greased palms, will get the water shut off long enough to recover your machine?
Sourov1, We really need to see some pictures of this.
"Kobelco fails excavator swim qualification" Damn, that looks like a mess.
Glad nobody got hurt. Wow. Looks like the water level varies greatly by looking at how far up the vegetation line is.
normal story in Vietnam!!
It's also SK210-8.
Am I the only one that would like an update? Is the SK210-8 still out for a swim?
There is a latency on how long it takes for for one to post a message here to the time it takes to get here and for one to respond then the OP reads it and then to respond. Poor squirrel who transmits said signal has to cross treacherous terrain frozen communication lines, across an ocean and sometimes get shot off along the way.
That looked like a good way to have the crane tipped over beside it.
