Working on a Kobelco sk120 with a 4bt Cummins motor when we took the fuel pre filter off it was bone dry. After tracing line we saw this one was cut at the other end. Trying to figure out where it should hook to. Or could they maybe have bypassed it?
It has been bypassed in the past. It’s not uncommon to see that on equipment.

That looks like an electric supply pump?? They came originally w/ a bechanical supply/lift pump bolted to the engine block.. usually around/below the inj. pump.?? it looks like someone installed the electric THEN it went back to mechanical.?? Most flow goes, fuel tank, lift pump, filters, injection pump.. The thing about swapping them is> U GOTTA KNOW what pressure the inj. pump REQUIRES to run.. Its not uncommon to see a 1-3 psi LP stuck inplace of a 25-30 psi pump.. & they wonder WHY it wont run.?? OR viseaversa.. & they end up blowing the front seals outta the inj. pump.
