Just bought a Kobelco sk350 mark 8 excavator, got a good deal on it. Has 11,000hrs, great undercarriage everything is good cosmetically. But the reason got such a good deal is it has a pretty major problem. To make long story short, the left track jerks when you try to move it any direction and the boom,stick jerk really bad and the pump is super noisy. The only function that is normal and doesn’t jerk is the right track. Does the same pump work both tracks? Or is right track on its on pump and the left track paired with the boom/stick pump? Kinda the way it seems? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
The pump closest to the engine is P1, it runs the left track and your right joystick functions. The farthest pump is P2 it runs right track and left joystick functions. As to your jerky problem, If you have no error codes the first place to start would be checking pilot pressure, this is the little pump on the back of the big ones. Should be around 750psi at full throttle. I would also check the two coils or PSVs one on each pump and make sure they are connected correctly.
