I need to repack my angle cylinders and was wondering do I have to have a slide hammer to pull the pin out that connects the rod end to the blade. This machine (TD 9 clone) has the sealed pin and bushings not grease fittings. The tractor has 3500hrs so is it possible the pin is worn and will pull out?
Have a D39P. Bored and sleeved angle cylinder anchor padeyes last year. Sleeved to original size then installed brass bushings there with a little slack because center pivot has slack also, will tend to it later. Original bushings were fiber and non greaseable. The pivot pins are threaded to install a slide hammer. Might want to break the cylinder packing nut loose before removing, took me a 48 pipe wrench and cheater pipe to break loose. Check shafts for straightness and nicks.
