Hi all, After vowing never ever to buy a Komatsu ever again i recently bought a D41p-6.A few years ago i had a D53-17 and had nothing but trouble with it.This year i have a job to do that requires a lot of topsoil leveling with a laser.The plan is to shift the bulk with a D8K and 463 then do the final trim with the D41.I did not want to spend big money on a tractor that probably wont be working every day on the job so the Komatsu made sense.Just wanderd what others thought of this model.My first impresion after running it for a couple of days is ok i think.Seems a bit of a rough ride compared to a Cat and a bit noisy.Transmision takes a bit of getting used to as well.Seems very slow in first then a big jump in to second gear.It behaves very much like a direct drive in the way it can stall the engine if you allowed it to.I am not saying i dont like it but it is very different to what i am used to.Just wanderd what others thought .Thanks Ump.
Have you thought about putting the laser on the 463 and finish as you go?
Not my favorite either. Don't like the gearing in first and second. Rough ride and I didn't like the wide angle blade. If you doing any corner work with the blade , it was like setting your head on a baseball bat and doing circles. Strong pusher tho , if you can find a speed that's productive. Just :my2c
