We parked the dozer before a bad weather spell and it ran fine. Went to start it after and we don’t seem to have electrical power to the key. Batteries are good and we have power to the battery relay. We jump the posts on the battery relay we can get the buzzer to come on in the cab but no start. What am I missing or what should I look for? Sorry but new to the Komatsu dozers and haven’t got any books in yet.
Think there is some fuses or fusible links right close to the Battery relay. Are those connections all clean. Better check all the ground connections coming off the batteries, and any going to the frame. Maybe post a picture of the battery box. Simon C
we have cleaned all connections on batteries and ground that I have found.
I can see rust on the bolts at the solenoid under the black rubber caps, Battery connections could be cleaner and put a little penetrrating oil on the clamp bolts so they come apart easier next time. If when someone turns the key on for you you should feel the inside of that big battery solenoid go clunk. It should then have power in and out. Did you check all these fuses, they look dirty and maybe corroded. Simon C
Yeah don’t really care for how everything is open like it is and full of junk. Going back tomorrow to clean everything better just trying to get idea what to look for. Just odd nothing to the key or gauges
Check those wire connections all around that solenoid and fuses as I seem to recall a wire goes direct from there to key switch for key switch control. Once cleaned up we can start with a few tests, as dirty connections will be faulty tests. Have an excavator schematic that will give me a few ideas. Make sure to clean up the other battery also. Simon C
Need to check the main cab fuses also, as key switch needs to have power. It may be unswitched power but still fused power. Let me know when you are done the other checking and we can do some meter tests. Simon C
