help bought all of the manuals i could find. not in them. between the tank and fuel filter there is a small steel tank that contains a float with ball seat has a hose with a vent. can anyone tell me what it is for? it is for fuel

The injectors leak fuel into engine cylinders resulting in massive damage so use the little tank, the check valves on the injectors fail is the main reason, the engine needs to draw fuel from a non gravity fed location, this issue is often found on Generators with the V12 1710-28 Cummins engine, people think big engine = big fuel tank and hook up a massive tank directly to the engine, the engine just sits snoozing waiting for the time its needed to run, the fuel tank pressure has by this time just about filled every cylinder? when the double or triple starter motors click in to fire the beast up things sharp go wrong, that little tank is a marvel. tctractors
