hi, Recently brought a 2008 komatsu pc 20 mr-2 mini excavator. The front idlers are squeaking when tracking but there doesn’t seem to be any exsessive room in the idler on the shaft. Does anyone know if these run dry or oil/ grease lubricated? From the parts diagram they seem to have bushes rather than bearings. Thanks
Don't know of any in the industry that aren't oil lubed. There should be a pipe plug in one end of the shaft that you can removed to check oil level. It is possible to have rocks packed into the track frame and rubbing on the outside of the wheel.
Thanks for your reply, I can’t see a plug anywhere on the idler shaft or carrier. The track frame is clean. No leaks or traces of oil on the idler either. Would they just be a sealed for life part?
They are supposed to be sealed for life.
