Hello Everyone. Last year the starter on thi smachine ( about 1996 vintage I think) was acting up and we needed to tap it to started near the end of the season. This spring I had the starter rebuilt and a new relay put on. Fairly tight to get in there but it seemed to go smoothly. I thought all was well but now the starter has zinged, ground , you know that awful noise they make when they don't engage properly. I don't think there is any area for adjustment or shimming on these so I guess I am asking what would cause this? IT never did this particular thing before. Also I am assuming these are "wet clutch" type with the flywheel in oil? I have never dont a starter before.
