Komatsu PC200-6 with Cummins won’t start

Prilay ยท 2018-08-06 17:34

I have a PC200-6 that will spin over but no start. If you aid a start aid it starts right up and will run all day. As soon as you turn it off, it will not start back up. Whether it's been 10 seconds or 2 hours. Has anyone seen this issue before?

Could be a lot of issues. I first of would check all the battery connections. Make sure it is turn over fast enough.

The machines with the Cummins engines have an in line fuel "strainer". It looks exactly like a gas filter we used to use on cars. They can get plugged up just like the machines with the hidden strainer in the banjo bolts. The other thing is that people think they are the same as the gas filters and go to the local auto parts store for a replacement. The thing is that the parts store units are paper filters while the original strainer is made of brass. It can be blow out and cleaned. Also check to make sure you are getting full voltage to the shut down solenoid and that it is moving all the way to the run position when the key is turned on. You might also check your battery voltage while the engine is turning over. I used to see the batteries drop below eighteen and nineteen volts when turning the engine over and the engine not starting. How many hours do you have on this machine?

CHECK the things John C. mentioned.. especially the solenoid travel.. IF all that checks out, I'll bet that the pumping plungers are worn & not allowing enough fuel at start-up.?? Theres away around it..depending on WHICH pump you have.. You can post a pic here of the inj. pump or send it to my home email {probably easiest}.. just put at a o l dot com after my screen name in you home mail service. A pic of the side & especially the front of the pump.
