Here's from SE Asia , Malaysia , if I remember. No notes again. There was a gas or oil line in the road , so he just could not put the bucket down and pull himself up as he would of broke the line. Created a real disaster. A Huge derrick barge came in and picked him up to safety.
Komatsu 2 Part 2 1st picture shows exposed gasline by the dozers.
Komatsu Part 3 Part 3
wow that is not how you want to start thing off with a brand new machine.
Seems to be an awful large/heavy excavator if they were simply digging out behind the pilings.....something strange here I'd say.
Why did they have a machine that size SO close to the edge of the water????
these pics have been posted here before...i cant remember by whom but as i recall the story goes that they were tracking it off of a barge with some mats or something and the road gave out..there are other pics of them trying to pull it out with dozers..theres like 6 of them hooked up...they then brought in the smaller hoes to dig out around the base of the machine to get clearance to pull it out...i am sure that someone will come along that remembers this better than i do :beatsme
way too big of a machine to be that close to water, or unstable ground.
i also remember seeing them before ,but i don't remember how posted them
The pictures described are linked from this thread and are definitely worth a look...
Those photos. Hi, Northart. Yep, I've seen those before too. I can't remember all the details either but I'd bet that somebody way under-estimated the load-bearing capacity of the ground needed to hold that jigger up on top. LOL. That crane barge sorta puts the PC3000 in its TRUE perspective, doesn't it? A bit like the dragline lifting the Cat D11R out of the hole at the Black Thunder mine.
the komatsu from what i read was going to a new mine, the only way to get it there was by boat apparently, those pics of the pilings you see were to retain the water while they made the lift, but i agree with all of you in the first place that size of shovel in those conditons should never be that close to the water
The Rest of the Story Just follow " Wulf " for the rest of the story !
hope they dunked it in the drink to clean it up a bit
Just when you think that unit is big you see one waaaaaay bigger making it look like a toy. Sweet pics.
oh boy
