I'm currently working on a komatsu wa 180-3 it has a sponging transmission. does not give full torque convertor lock up until wot. checked pilot pressure today. was getting 210 psi at idle and almost 300 psi at wot. I would like to know what the pressure should be? pulled the filter in line behind pump and it was full of metal. thanks, Daniel
Hopefully this may be of help to you. see attached Kind regards
Ok, thank you.
I'm having trouble figuring out the problem. i tested the port 2 priority pressure we got 250lbs. (low) we pulled the pump it had some scraring. so we replaced it. retest was the same. the machine doesn't give full torque convertor lock up until (wot) which is about 300psi(still low). where should i test pump pressure? can this be adjusted.
Ide be more concerned about a filter full of metal and what has been contaminated because of it. There is no telling what could be stuck due to metal shavings
yes, i pulled screen in bottom of trans. it was ok clean. i also changed out the pump filter. i have done some more testing. port 1 pilot pressure has less than 100 psi, port 4 has less than 100psi. i can hear a high pitch wine coming from pump or valve system. i adjusted the modulation valve turned inward a total of 2 revolutions with no change in priority pressure. which is250 high idle. so basically port 1 should show pump output. but i'm getting probalay 50psi i know that brand new pump is putting out more than that.
I have did more testing found almost 400 psi (wot) at the line going in to the first valve inline after the pump. and only 300 after the valve. i'm assuming there is my pressure lose. can anyone tell me what that valve is and does it pressure relieve? or a schematic of the hydraulic system. my shop manual doesn't have any info on this.
