Hello all, We have a Kubota KH-28L (Year 1983. Serial no. 10260) with a crack in the swing bracket. We have had it weld repaired twice now but it has developed the crack again. The original part number for the swing bracket is 68271-66402, but a replacement is now referenced in the parts list 68271-66407 which has a thicker section than the original part suggesting the original was undersized. We now believe that another weld repair is futile and that we either need to get the replacement part or strengthen the original somehow. We have made enquiries to Kubota about the replacement part but nothing yet Can anyone suggest salvage or breaker yards that specialize in kubota excavators or might have a Kubota KH-28L. Does anyone have any other suggestions to keep this old digger going! Regards Ed
Can't see the crack in the pictures, what might be at issue is finding what's causing the crack. I'm guessing its welded up to a professional standard where its just as strong as new without any inclusions and is a full root weld. Repeated cracking can be a symptom of something else being bad, a bent ram or cocked bushing causing an over stress condition.
