I had my skid steer (2018 Kubota SSV65) stored in an unheated portion of my outbuilding for winter. Over the holiday break I noticed the chain case was leaking in the lower corner. After getting the cover off, it seems the RTV gasket failed because of corrosion getting behind the cover. I’ve attached a picture showing where the corrosion is getting in. So my question is if sealing the outside of the cover to prevent corrosion getting behind it and causing the same failure again in the future. Any thoughts?
Clean down to bare metal, paint with Por 15, Re-seal with silicone or make a gasket. In case you don't know about Por 15, its used in restoration work, dries rock hard, follow instructions.
