Nice shots. Obviously a large project!!

  6. #6CascadeScaper2008-07-27 01:38

Do you know who's doing the work? Looks like they have a nice assortment of toys. Definately a truck and hoe show.

  7. #7oakland2008-07-27 10:58

the contractor is debco construction out of orofino, idaho they own 5 769s 2 d30ds and 4 hm300s

  8. #8N.CarolinaDozer2008-07-27 12:09

Very nice lineup! Looks like good work!

  9. #9Bellboy2008-07-27 12:24

Superb!:notworthy What model is that Cat? A D6N? Either way, keep us posted. I like the Komatsu HM300 ADT's.

  10. #10stretch2008-07-27 13:59

Yep, D6N. Can we get some working pics sometime? Would like to see what they load the 769's with.

  11. #11Bellboy2008-07-27 14:12

    Good point.

  12. #12oakland2008-07-27 20:56

i wont be going back up there sorry . ill try to get some pics of there pc 600 up and some of the d10 and other rock trucks . they have shut down due to a festival up there and im leaving before they resume work . all those komatsu trucks are new .

  13. #13oakland2008-07-27 23:19

heres some pics of the pc600 .

  14. #14CascadeScaper2008-07-28 01:06

That's a crazy looking 600. Maybe someone knows better than me, but what's it setup for? Looks like an air compressor mounted to the counterweight. I'm still boggled with the long reach setup and a big, toothed bucket. I'm at a loss trying to figure this one out.

  15. #15hvy 1ton2008-07-28 19:24

Wonder if the air compressor is for a giant rock drill and the tooth bucket is for removing the broken(blasted or otherwise) rock.

  16. #16oakland2008-07-29 23:41

well i didnt see the ADTs or the rigid frames but did get some pics of the grade crew:drinkup

  17. #17Bellboy2008-07-30 12:28

Cool pics. That D61PX has some wide tracks.

  18. #18PETE3792008-07-30 15:15

Is that regular car traffic driving through the work zone? I noticed there arent many cones or barrels out.

  19. #19oakland2008-07-30 19:00

it is regulaur traffic but a pilot car is leading them. there arent many cones here but there is torwards the front of the project and there are signs at every section. after they remove all the softspots they will bring a planer through, grade and compact it and then pave it. the project runs a total of 26 miles they did 13 last year and there doing the other 13 this year.:drinkup

im not a betting man but with the long boom and compressor they could dig slurry walls and presureize the stick. i know nordic in cali does this with their 1250 krapmatsu:beatsme

  21. #21oakland2008-07-30 19:40

im not totally sure it was in their staging area and a few miles up the road there were some slurry walls along the side of the road.

  22. #22Bellboy2008-07-31 11:33

lots of really cool things going on. I love to see big beasts in their natural habitat.

  23. #23hoeman6002008-08-04 17:20

this is one we had in cali. 9420pullpan took the picts.

  24. #24cps2008-08-04 17:40

thats what you would call a long reach, how low is its reach do you know?

  25. #25oakland2008-08-04 17:47

i dont know what the 600s reach is :beatsme the long boom has now been removed and it is headed to the other project

  26. #26D5G2008-08-05 22:08

holy cow that krapmatsu needs a bath bigtime! Great shots oakland, thanks for sharing.

  27. #27hoeman6002008-08-06 16:30

its 90 ft. its dirty cuz its diggin slurrywalls

  28. #28oakland2008-08-06 17:13

90 feet thats a long way. i agree with d5g though it does need a pressure washer

  29. #29D5G2008-08-06 19:34

90 is pretty decent, any idea what the machine weighs with the huge boom?

  30. #30MKTEF2008-08-08 15:06

I bet that PC600 got a rock drill setup. Bucket is for clearing the mountain before drilling. Nice so u don't need to make a road up there for a normal rockdrill. Check out Nelly here: Post 387, half way down the side. 66 feet of reach, 210 000 pounds apr., radio controlled, quick coupler. Operator is in the yellow overall.

  31. #31hitch2008-08-10 01:32

Oakland, nice pics, the IR roller seems old model coz the logo and color are not familiar.

  32. #32oakland2008-08-12 23:23

well i went back up there this week and they brought in 2 more 769s so now they have: 2 caterpillar 14g graders 1 caterpillar 14m grader 5 caterpillar 769c haul trucks 2 caterpillar cs-683e rollers 4 komatsu hm300 adts 1 komatsu pc400 excavator 1 komatsu pc228 excavator 2 komatsu pc138 excavators 1 john deere 844j loader 2 john deere 644h loaders 2 john deere 544h loaders 1 komatsu d61px dozer 1 cat d6n xl dozer 1 cat 246 skidsteer 1 ingersollrand sd115d roller 2 dd138hf ingersollrand asphalt rollers 1 ingersollrand single drum asphalt roller 1 ingersollrand Phneumatic roller 1 ingersollrand paver and elevator 2 rosco brooms thats all the equipment i saw now how about some pics :drinkup

  33. #33oakland2008-08-12 23:25

    more:drinkup

  34. #34oakland2008-08-12 23:31

they were letting the 769s and hm300s drive down the road with the ragulaur car traffic. one was behind us going up and down! its kind of scary when you have to slow down or stop and they dont even touch the brakes.

  35. #35oakland2008-08-13 18:23

    some more:drinkup

  36. #36oakland2008-08-17 22:21

pavers gone got pics of 2 new rollers and 9 of the trucks plus the new grader. they worked overnight all night until 4 am and installed 4 colverts .

  37. #37oakland2008-08-17 22:23

    the rollers

  38. #38oakland2008-09-12 00:26

i found some more pictures of the pc600. these are not my pictures but they show some of what they are using it for. its pretty interesting they walk it all the way to the front (8 miles) every night and they only have 30minutes-1hour working time frames so they have to move it then to. and there turnouts arent very big!

  39. #39WColtharp2008-09-13 16:03

That would make me a little nervous with a haul truck that size behind my car. I might have missed it already but is this a park or just low volume traffic which allows them to work while keeping the road open? I'd hate to be trying to bring anything up to grade on a any equipment that size with cars going by all day. Then again, my resume in the field is mostly with grading/utilities on site. The only road experience I had was traffic control when we had a tie in in the middle of a road. Great pictures though!

  40. #40oakland2008-09-13 18:11

actually they have a pilot car running and the trucks dont go all the way up they turnoff about a mile after that.
