Hi friends, When I was here last you folks helped me weld up a broken tooth on my 555e New Holland backhoe. Many thanks . The tip about heating the work first made the job go good. Today that backhoe has boom and other leaky cylinders. The machine is at my mechanic's shop, gantry overhead. we are unable to get the cylinder cap to unthread and allow us to rebuild the 'o'-rings etc. We have the store bought tool to 'nest' onto the cap and put a large breaker bar and a cheater sleeved over breaker bar, with torch heat for a couple of minutes. Torquing when hot. Nothing. Just bent the breaker bar. Did look at cap, found no set screw or pin or wire holder. Does anyone here have any familiarity with hard to loosen hydraulic cylnder caps?
