Liebherr vs CASE

I would like to know what you think about CASE and Liebherr dozers for landfill application. What do you think about Case dozers in general especially that Fiat engine. They are both hidrostatic but Case are significantly cheaper and what are the difference between quality as it is almost half price. Case are said to be good machines but the only machine i have seen is a backhoe which is cheap as a Turkish machine. So what do you think -Price comparision -quality -engine life -electronics -undercarriage

Not likely you will get anyone with experience on both brands of dozers, but here is my 2 cents. Liebherr made the large dozers for John Deere, and in general, it was not a popular in my area. I'm sure someone can chime in with specific issues. The case dozers have some differences from north America to Europe. I'm assuming your looking at a 850M or similar model. - Quality has lowered some in my opinion. The cabs no longer tilt. The M series have a new cab, with more visibility over the older cabs. Electrical issues have been resolved, as that was a issue with older models. - The fiat engine is actually a very good engine. Very reliable. Have seen machines with over 13,000 hours on them, with nothing other than oil changes done to the engine, and still not burning any oil. With that being said, the emissions have caused issues. You cant idle these machines for very long, or you will have issues. - Electronics are mostly the same as previous models, with the addition of the emissions electronics also. Wiring harness and wiring has been improved and more reliable. - Undercarriage is also basically the same as previous models. You can get sealed and lubricated tracks, or standard tracks. Generally working conditions will determine your undercarriage life.

Older Case machines the new ones are NOT, not even in the US. If those are the only two machines in abundance stick with the Liebherr there. Hydrostat dozers still perform and well, I just do not appreciate them as too much fluid heat built up, use quality fluids and change as to service life design should be fine.

The M series has improved quite a bit sense the old K series but they are still Kobelco machines. I've worked on Case machine before the Ms came out but I think you'll like the Case. But in the long run it's your decision of what you buy.
