In regards to my last post about my case 680k loader noise. It's not external, it sounds like it's coming underneath the brake pedals, somewhere down there. Lifted the cab foot cover and can't see a thing, took off engine covers, still no sign. Anyone? Thanks.
Noise happens only when dumping, up, down, scoop all good, no noise.
I had been thinking it was related to the low flow (idle) and high "demand" (dumping) causing a suction/flow noise, maybe even related to a higher ratio of return flow to pressure supply (due to the smaller end of cylinder extending and larger end of cylinder retracting)? WAG all of it.
Sorry, brother WAG all of it. I'm guessing you are saying forget about it?
"untamed donkey" guess. I have no idea what's causing the noise, that's just what came to mind. Any hydraulic valves in that area, return filter, or maybe the suction screen? Oh yeah, for future reference keep the same issue in the same thread, we old fogeys get real confused trying to find our posts in the wrong thread.
Will do. Thanks, old timer, sorry old folgey.
have you ever had someone stand on the ground close (but not too close obviously) to the loader when it's making the noise to try to pinpoint it..? Reason I ask is the feeling it might be coming from the brakes themselves. Are they dry or wet brakes..?
Air brakes. Took it out for a few hours and the noise went away. Took it out at just below freezing. Noise stopped shortly after. Out on the ranch, will not see anybody for two weeks, not able to have someone listen.
