Hi all. im looking for some advice here. i would like to start my own excavation business, but im not even sure where to start rent equipemt trucks all that kinda stuff. i DO know that i have intreast in digging foundations for houses so how would i get into that? and anything else i should think about? thanks!

abosultly none, but i do know how to run a skid steer and a mini ex iv done some small projects
My recommendation ( and i guarantee it is not what you want to hear) is go work for someone for a year or two , and take on every task you can and ask as many questions as possible. It is hard to justify getting customers to pay you to do work when you don't really have the experience either. There is a lot to learn in this business then most people think. I am young (27) but have been running machines since i was ten. I have my own business with about 30 pieces of equipment and not a day goes by that i still don't learn something. Best advice i ever received was to go learn on someone else's dime , and to listen more ,talk less. best of luck
