Low power when running case 1840

Goodday, I have a Case 1840 99' that upon starting gives me a lower power than I'm used to. The problem all began when my mechanic took out the engine to replace a spun crankshaft bearing and re-assembled due to a little mishap . I don't know if its an electrical problem as he may have left out a wire or something please help.:Banghead

I would replace and clean the fuel lines, fitting going into the tank, fuel filters. That machine ended up low on the fuel tank side and may have sucked some crap in the lines since it ran long enough to knock out a bearing. The injection pump should have a elect shut off and would not run unless it had power to the shut off. If the machine has a elect fuel pump, make sure it works with the key on. Just a quick thought.

Was looking around for the wire you (sheep foot) were talking about and i found this... . seem like its a shut off for the fuel pump or something. What do you think?

there was also a wire crusted up in the burnt part of the object.

Sheepfoot may know what that is, but for the rest of us, Where did that come from? I hope it wasn't floating around loose

Here are your pics turned so you can view them. That looks to be the oil pressure switch. Look for a loose wire in the engine area that reaches to where you threaded that out. It may have been up against something and making a dead short till it melted the end. Do you have an oil pressure light or gauge? The shutdown solenoid is usually on the injector pump and it wont start without power to it. They sometimes run the power to it through the oil pressure switch to shut it down if you lose oil pressure. At the angle it is sitting it likely dry sumped as all the oil ran to the back of the pan.

That is your fuel shutoff at the injection pump. When you turn the key on, the coil inside pulls the rubber tipped plunger back against it's internal spring allowing the machine to run. When you turn the key off the coil no longer pulls the plunger in and allows it to block fuel. It looks like it is shorted out and you can pull the plunger and spring out, screw it back in, tape up the wire end, bleed the fuel system and run it to see if that was your problem. There is a small lever on the top of the pump that you can move to shut the engine off after you test it. If the machine runs with good power, check the wire taped up with a test light to see if there is current with the key on, if no current check the fuse. Then install a new shut off and hook your wire up. I would not trust that one due to the melting at the screw mounting but it can be checked with a fused 12 volt hot wire and a ground wire to the side housing, if when grounding it pulls the spring and plunger in it's working, one min one sec warranty. Hope this helps, ask more if needed.
