Madill 071 Drive chain

I am looking for information about drive chain specifications (strength), alignment , tension and adjusting the guard. any info or documents would be greatly appreciated. i am swapping motors and dont have any books.

    Can't help with the chain specs however, if you undo the inspection plate you will see the marks for adjusting the tension. Through this plate you have to split the chain. If you turn the gear train you should find the joiner link on the chain. This is a pain in the arse if the torque converter has seized. Usually happens if the output bearing is not greased. The engines are on a cradle that pulls out the front of the machine.

    i have everything undone i will have to look for marks though. the chain now is fiddle string tight with some broken links. i have read up on chains to find out it should have a inch or so of slack. i am going to replace the chain as far as i know it needs to be 104" long. Everything turns fine has new torque converter.
